All (1) the fans circulating within the European community of power between 125 W and 500 kW from January 2013 will be in accordance with Regulation (EU) N.327/2011 Commission. The efficiency of the fans to meet the European standards, must reach a minimum level. The legislation requires that at least the point of maximum efficiency is greater than or equal to the limits, these limits are fixed with two dates in January 2013 and January 2015. The Regulation states that the verification of compliance with the same regulations can be achieved either through measures that calculations depending on the configuration of the fan.

CMC Srl proof ventilation fans in our laboratory according to ISO 5801 and AMCA 210-07 legislation, the outcome of the tests is achieved compliance with ErP can measure the air flow, the pressure and the electrical power input in the motor. In the assessment of compliance must be taken into consideration all the parts are functionally connected to the fan.

Step 2:
This Regulation does not apply to fans integrated in:
I) products with a single electric motor of 3 kW or less where the fan is fixed on the same shaft used to move the main functionality;
II) tumble dryer and washing machines with built-in electrical power input ≤ 3 kW;
III) hoods electrical power input maximum total <280 W due to the fans.


Step 3:
This Regulation does not apply to fans which are:
a) designed specifically to operate in potentially explosive atmospheres as defined in Directive 94/9/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (1);
b) designed to operate only in cases of emergency, for short periods, in relation to fire safety regulations laid down in Directive 89/106/EC of the Council (2);
c) specifically designed to work:
i) a) when the operating temperature of the circulating gas above 100 ° C;
b) when the ambient temperature of the motor operating the fan action that, if placed outside of the gas flow, exceeds 65 ° C;
ii) when the annual average temperature of the circulating gas and / or the ambient temperature of the engine, if placed outside of the gas flow, is less than - 40 ° C;
iii) with a supply voltage> 1 000 V AC or> 1 500 V DC;
iv) in a toxic environment, highly corrosive or flammable gases or in environments with abrasive substances;
d) placed on the market before 1 January 2015 as a replacement for identical fans integrated in products that have been placed on the market before 1 January 2013. …”

(2) Ventilation CMC offers its customers the ability to carry out tests to verify the correspondence to Council Regulation (EU) N.327/2011 Commission, the fan drive motors and other components in use by customers.
